The upside to the better health conditions experienced by Americans for the past 100 years is that we live longer lives. For most of us, those lives involve better health than any generations before but towards the end of those lives we often live for a decade or longer with chronic diseases that previously would have resulted in death. Those chronic diseases often necessitate relying upon others to provide the care necessary to continue to live productive, happy lives. That raises many questions:

  • Where do you get that care?
  • How do you pay for it?
  • Should you choose an Adult Family Home, an Assisted Living Community, Memory Care, or Independent Care?
  • Are there other choices available?

How do you know whether your choices, regardless of what they are, will be safe? In addition, the majority of people looking for solutions aren’t the people who need the care. The majority of decision makers are the adult children. Often the need for the solution is imperative. A sudden crisis or health issue thrusts the need for solutions into the forefront of lives already busy with work and younger family members. The necessary decisions require someone familiar with health and housing options for seniors but where do you get those skills? If you are in the Pacific Northwest, you hire Graham & Graham.

When Jerry and Michelle Graham founded Graham & Graham in 2010, they joined the ranks of hundreds of placement services but they wanted to offer something different that went far beyond just commission-only sales staff funneling aging relatives to facilities with openings.

One of the biggest differences is their time in the geriatric industry before they started their business. Between the two of them, they have over 40 years in the industry. Jerry, a Certified Senior Advisor with over 20-years’ experience working in the long-term care industry once recruited therapists for skilled nursing facilities and had four years’ experience as a senior advisor for another company before starting Graham & Graham. Michelle, also a Certified Senior Advisor, has over 20 years’ experience in the long-term care industry both in communities and as a consultant. In addition, her background as a paralegal means she is the first and only Collaborative Law Eldercare Specialist in Washington state. Michelle was also actively involved in writing amendments to laws regulating their industry. The depth of Graham & Graham experience extends to their staff which includes nurses, former long-term care and hospital administrators.

Graham & Graham pride themselves on providing more than placement services. Their emphasis on educating staff means that they provide families with guidance about the entire process of providing care as their loved ones age. They think of themselves as matchmakers. As such, they pride themselves on finding permanent, appropriate care solutions that recognize the uniqueness of each client’s situation and take into account not only the client’s clinical and financial needs but also their personal desires and preferences. Members of their staff have either completed or are registered for Mediation Training through Pierce County’s Dispute Resolution Center.

In August 2015, Graham & Graham received the 2015 Torch Award from the BBB for promoting ethical business practices market place trust.

Contact Graham & Graham if you need a respected and experienced advisor to help with your loved one’s placement needs. Placement services are free since the company receives compensation from the senior care industry. They’ve contracted with thousands of care providers, both large and small, locally and throughout the U.S. to find the best fit for your family.

Because we are funded by the Senior Housing Industry, our services are always FREE to seniors and their families.
